Dr. Fadia S. AlBuhairan is a Professor of Pediatrics and executive health leader with over 25 years experience in clinical care, public/global health, research, and policy. She is a pediatrician, specialized in adolescent health and is the pioneer of adolescent medicine in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East. Dr. AlBuhairan is a Special Advisor to the International Association for Adolescent Health and serves on the World Health Organization’s Strategic and Technical Advisory Group of Experts on maternal, newborn, child, adolescent health and nutrition. She is a Board Member at the Child Care Association and has received the global recognition award for her work in adolescent health from the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (USA). Dr. AlBuhairan’s landmark national study “Jeeluna”, on the status of adolescents’ health in Saudi Arabia, has generated the evidence to inform policy, services, and programming. She currently serves as the Director General of National Health Economics and Policies at the Saudi Health Council.
